Elon Musk Approaches AI Researchers To Create His Own Rival Chatbot For The World
It appears that all tech giants are venturing into the world of AI-powered technology by launching respective chatbots.
After
seeing the overwhelming success of ChatGPT by OpenAI, both Microsoft
and Google were soon to follow in their footsteps with their respective
launches.
Microsoft introduced its new Bing Search whereas
Google gave rise to the chatbot called Bard which is yet to be released
publicly.
This morning, we heard about Snapchat+ introducing the
endeavor for its premium users and yesterday, Meta announced the launch
of its language-themed AI chatbot. So today, we’re hearing more about
how Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is also jumping on the bandwagon for a
chatbot for the Twitter platform.
It was bound to happen,
considering he is the co-founder of the widely successful AI tool
ChatGPT. Hence, the latest on this front is related to Musk approaching
researchers in this domain about how to create an archrival to ChatGPT
because that’s the sort of success he wants.
The reports were published on Monday by The Information
and it cited those people who were familiar with the news. Moreover,
the report went on to add how the researcher in contact was actually one
that just left Google’s parent firm Alphabet’s AI division called
DeepMind.
It’s obvious that ChatGPT was a project of OpenAI and
it has really gained a lot of popularity around the world. Hence, Musk
wants to capitalize on that by introducing his own like so many others.
The
billionaire co-founded the tool in 2015 and designated it as a
non-profit business endeavor. But it didn't take long for it to be
converted into one of the most profitable ordeals today and Musk is not
happy about it.
So far, not a lot of insider details are known
about the project involving Musk but one this is for sure- the goal is
to make an entire team carry on with the likes of research in the AI
field. It’s all just so early right now and no signs of any concrete
evidence to make the particular product.
But the leading
researcher named Babuschkin claims he is yet to be officially made a
part of Elon Musk’s design team and until then, he can’t say anything.
Both parties are yet to comment on any requests thrown at them so we’ll just have to wait and watch.
